Lately, Seven Oak has had a rise in students reporting cyberbullying and online harassment, and it is having a real impact on them at school. It is often hard to know if your student is a victim... or bully... because it is happening over social media such as Facebook, Snapchat, Instagram or any number of sites, and may be completely out of sight to parents. Please take some time to talk with your student about being responsible and kind online (netiquette) and monitor their Internet use often. Attached is a flyer from Parent Today about your role in helping to prevent cyberbullying.

8th Graders will be attending a field trip on June 7th to OSU and Timber Linn Park. This field trip is free, but students need to purchase an 8th grade T-Shirt to wear on the field trip AND for 8th grade celebration on June 8th. The permission slips have gone out to students and need to be returned to Mrs. Gardner. The shirts can be paid for in the office.
Seven Oak would like thank Wilco for their generous donation to our Garden Program.
Wilco's donation allows us to purchase items when needed for use district wide.
Some examples are:
- When the vandalism occurred at Pioneer, the 8' tee post and trellis were replaced immediately;
- At Cascades, the plastic was torn and wide tape had been used;
- Organic spray is used at all schools in the summer when cucumber beetles appear;
- Cow panels and 8' tee posts are standing at each school for vertical gardening;
- Weed block and lg staples were installed in walking rows of all gardens to keep weeds down;
- Along with many plant starts, soil, mulches and seeds were added to all gardens; and
- so much more has been added to each of the gardens, thanks to Wilco!
Seven Oak would like to thank the Human Bean for their generous donation of 50 free beverages to support our attendance goals this quarter!

» Field trips are considered a privilege and students who are not behaving at school in a respectful, responsible way may be asked to bring a parent chaperon on the field trip. This would require a parent to pass a background check and fill out a volunteer form in the office.
» The snack bar is still in need of volunteers! Tuesdays and Thursdays are the days most in need. It is a fun, easy way to support your student's school. Grandmas and Grandpas welcome, too!
» If your child has PE this year, it is not too late to purchase a combination lock for their belongings. We strive to create a safe environment for their possessions, but ultimately locking their things up each day will be the best option.
» If your student purchases drinks before school starts, please encourage them to finish them before bringing them into our building. Sugary drinks are messy to clean up and are not allowed in our gyms. Thank you.
» We take many calls toward the end of the school day. Most of these are messages regarding "going home" plans for students. We are asking that you let your student know in the morning before school how he/she is getting home. If there is a change in plans, please call before 2:30 p.m., if possible, as it is very difficult to get messages to students after this time. Thank you.
