Superintendent

Superintendent Jennifer Meckley took the lead in Lebanon Community School District in January 2023; however, her leadership in LCSD spans 26 years, and her devotion to this community, much longer. Here since the age of two, Meckley considers Lebanon her home and attended our schools from K-12.

Meckley served students as a classroom teacher and principal prior to her shift to the district office, where she was Director of Human Resources. Knowledge of employee relations, recruitment and retention, and labor negotiations, combined with her school-level skill with curriculum and instruction, assessment, classroom management, and more, made her an invaluable Assistant Superintendent since 2019.

Her leaders and coworkers, present and previous, appreciate Meckley’s ability to develop and implement programs, processes, and strategies to bolster student achievement. The helm of a school district is a constant balancing act involving the needs of the organization, its employees, and its many stakeholders; Meckley understands and respects that balance.

“Jen is a competent leader for many reasons–not the least of which is her ability to forge relationships with anyone,” shares Board Chairman Tom Oliver. “But it’s her sense of purpose and commitment to students that ensures LCSD will continue to improve.”

When Meckley is not in the boardroom engaged in planning, meeting with employees, or visiting schools–her favorite task–she can often be found near or on the water, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
